Our History

Stewart Marine started back in 1994 by Captain Todd Stewart. As a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain, Todd focused primarily on a very busy fishing charter business for several years. As time went on he added Mooring Sales and Services, Aluminum Fabrication, and Dock and Gangway installations here in the tidal Saco River of Southern Maine. In 2016, one of Todd’s customers requested that we build him a new 36 foot aluminum gangway. Shortly thereafter, that customers next door neighbor wanted us to build him new aluminum floating docks. Soon Todd found that he was getting so busy with all these “word of mouth” requests, that he needed to reduce some of the other aspects of his business and continue to concentrate on the fast growing demand of building aluminum gangways, floating and stationary docks for both fresh and saltwater customers.

Since then, Todd included Maine Dock and Gangway under the Stewart Marine Inc name, and has been very busy ever since. We now find ourselves building Aluminum Floating Docks, Aluminum Gangway, Aluminum Stationary Docks, and Aluminum Footbridges for customers in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New York, Virginia, and we even have one customer in Homer ALASKA!

When you contact Maine Dock and Gangway, you will be speaking with the company owner and fabricator - Todd. There is no customer service department, there is no salesman, no fancy showroom, no brochure, and definitely no “one size fits all” price list. Everything we build is “built to order” specifically for what works best for the customers unique waterfront. All quotes are handled by email only. Each quote is based on exactly what is needed to complete the customers vision on what they want for their waterfront. When contacting us feel free to send some pictures of your waterfront, or even a hand drawn sketch on a napkin, try and give us an idea of what dimensions that you envision for your new gangway or floating/stationary dock. The more information you can provide, will help us “get a feel” for what you want to achieve.
